Spent my evening with my friends to do the food-hunting at some places in the mall. The first place to visit was a new sushi store. The concept of this new sushi place is like a mini mart where we can self-pick the food, snacks and drinks that are available in the vending machine, put them in a basket and bring it to the cashier for payment. We can take the food outside or eat them in the store since the store is also prepared with some desks, so visitors can enjoy their food inside.

We bought a salmon onigiri, some sushi rolls and I picked a bottle of orange juice. All costs around IDR87,000 and I think the food price is pretty expensive here.

The food taste all right and more like ordinary. However I think the place is pretty cool. It’s like a stall where we can stop for a while, have a seat while eating sushi, bento, onigiri, or at least ice cream.

From the sushi place, we randomly dropped by a western food restaurant that sells steaks and pasta. My friends and I usually ordered chicken steak here, but for this time we decided to order something different.

The first menu that arrived was this creamy chicken soup. My friends said that the soup was tasted more like a milk than a soup.

A few minutes later, the waiter served two main dishes at once. The beef burger steak and a sausage dish which I forgot what the name is. Speaking of honesty, we were disappointed with the servings, they were less in every aspect. My friends were surprised by how tiny the food portion is.

Thankfully the spaghetti bolognese still can make it to our favors. Though the serving looks a bit plain but the bolognese sauce tasted quite delicious.

After gobbling up the western food, actually we decided to pick something oriental like dim sum. Unfortunately we were already stuffed so in the end we just went looking for some desserts.

Our choice landed on the sweet cakes at Secret Recipe. I’ve always been a fan of the chocolate mud cake so I was absolutely happy with the choice. My friends went for the marble cheese cake and the marshmallow chocolate fudge cake.

Chocolate mud cake consists of layers of chocolate cake, cream and mousse? then covered with the heavenly bitter-sweet chocolate! After tasting the three cakes, my favorite choice is still the chocolate mud cake. For me, the other two were seriously wrong choices! Especially the marshmallow fudge cake that was tasted really weird with a little bit of sourness or whatever that taste is called… (._. )

All of us were already full, while the cake was still a bit left. So to play nice and fair, we decided the one who should eat the last small piece of cake by doing a rock-paper-scissors. There my friend, Agnes, was forced to be lost and had to clean the plate.

After re-reading the whole article, I feel that this review is kind of shallow. Too many food to be tried and I just can’t describe each of them intensively. Well, be better next time.
