I spotted this rain cloud during my way to the north yesterday with friends. Looks like there’s one area over there that was enjoying a heavy downpour.

I was pretty amazed because the rain cloud looked pretty scary just as the sky is pouring down its anger. However I think I failed in catching the right atmosphere as it was so difficult to take good pictures in a fast moving car. On the other side, the weather is getting more magical lately, isn’t it?

My friends and I were wondering around the mall yesterday and we accidentally spotted this LEGO exhibition from the top floor. We were going down through the elevator, and this view of huge colorful LEGO city from the top definitely attracted our eyes.

Good thing that I always brought my camera around but since it’s a big DSLR so I felt a bit uneasy to snap some pictures. Beside, I was afraid that there might be some kind of prohibition in using DSLR camera in that exhibition that I had missed to notice.

Anyway, while Gill was already wandering around with her Blackberry camera and Steven wasn’t easily found nearby, so I dragged Pu3 around to accompany me. At least it will be less embarrassing if a security happened to stop me taking pictures by using a DSLR camera. Haha!

At first I was using the common 18-55mm lens and the result didn’t turn out so well. I wanted to switch the lens to the 50mm but I was a bit worried by the bustle of switching lens in the middle of the crowd. Thankfully, Pu3 still encouraged me to switch and she even helped me to switch the lens.

More pictures after switching to the nifty 50mm.

From all the buildings in the Lego City, this police station is my favorite one. I think it has nice colors and a sophisticated details that make it looks very cool.

Just For A Thought.

Did you play LEGO when you’re a kid? My elder brother is very talented when it comes to build things from Lego. He once won the 2nd place in a Lego tournament when he was 7 y.o. On the other side, currently I am just wondering how much money I will need to build a Lego City in my own house. It would be very interesting to have a huge LEGO city at home.

From all photos I’ve taken yesterday, this is my most favorite one. I think it was taken from a right angle with a suitable height level and a rather lucky focus.

The theme has been set, the activate button has been pressed, the new look of Blog Of Oridusartic is here. Different from my previous usual themes, this time I decide to throw away the sidebar and be focus on the content by using one-column layout with a touch of bright blue sky that is full of happiness.

The Busy Woozy

The process in creating this theme took around a month. It took that long due to the time in working on the new layout is very limited. I can only spare one or two hours in the evening after the office hours. That doesn’t count the change of idea in the middle of the theme implementation.

Actually this how my single-column layout should be. But after a few days working on it, I feel that grey theme is a bit lack of the likeness effect so I decided to put it away.

Words End

So how do you think of the new Blog Of Oridusartic’s look? Hate it or love it? Describe it in 3 to 5 keywords on the comment section. Any suggestion would be appreciated as I’m still fixing some features on the new theme.

This is what happened when procrastination becomes my best friend. I got tons of food photos in my hardisk drive that I’ve been taking since a few months ago (even a few years ago) yet they had never been published. Worse, I can’t even remember the dish name so it is a bit difficult to blog about them.

Anyway, who cares? I should just blog them right away here.

Up right there is the half-cooked salmon sushi that I ate with my cousins last month at Ichiban Sushi. In case if you wonder, ichiban means number one by the way. If you think rice and salmon are supposed to be served raw, no worries cause their raw brothers are coming up next.

Here they are the raw version of the sushi hmm.. I really have no idea what this dish is called. Probably mentai sushi? But the one that is called mentai supposed to be served with mayonnaise and tasted different. Yes, whatever. This is not a review though.

Anyway, raw or half-cooked which one is your favorite sushi? Will you swallow a raw fish down your throat?

While we’re waiting for the chef preparing the other menu, here I snapped away the restaurant interior. Pretty cozy with Japanese tables and pillow seats. However at that time we chose to sit on the chairs with usual dining table.

And the next dish to show themselves on our table was this sushi rolls with cooked eels (unagi) on the top of them. If this was served to me five years ago I probably already threw them to the trash can but everything changes now. Unagi are good and the taste is not as gross as they seem. Especially if they were combined with the savoury Japanese ketchup. Hmmmm…

A trooper of California rolls came next. Until now I’m still wondering why they’re called Californian. I probably found the answer on Google or maybe I should give it as a homework for you any reader of this blog. Find the answer and post on the comment section. Win nothing.

When I thought that the lunch was over, this fried udon with slices of crispy golden chicken katsu appeared on our table. Turned out that my cousin ordered this meal on the last minute. It supposed to be a personal dish but since she was full, she decided to share. Fried udon tasted pretty good but I don’t really like udon, I think udon is too thick and chewy for my liking especially while I always adore thin smooth noodles.

Just a quick update about Snoopy. Saw these Snoopy & Friends mascots, promoting for an event at the mall. They look cute and for a few seconds, I had this idea to queue among the kids, get up on stage and get my picture snapped. Thankfully my mind was soon getting back to the sanity. If I really did, it would be pretty embarrassing to be the tallest slash the oldest among the queuing kids. But it would be pretty challenging though, I should do it with my friends as a challenge next time.

And while the topic is about mascot, I should share a bit about my goal in life. I swear someday I will turn one or some my drawn characters into walking mascots! Be ready to witness, readers. (^^ , )
