Map Y U NO Simple?

During my trip in Seoul, I was the noob in the group. Totally confused about the places’ names, and completely not able to read any Korean letter, plus too lazy to learn about them. LOL. I totally relied on my friends in traveling between one place to another and so I didn’t really pay attention to the route.

However one day they got fed up and put me on a test. *JRENG! JRENG!* My friend asked me about how many stations that we should pass if we wanted to get to Kangnam.. (Oh no this was harder than my high school test!)

And so I looked at the map

Observing Singapore From Singapore Flyer

singfly_cover
Had the chance to observe the beauty of skyscrapers from the Singapore Flyer during my last visitation to Singapore. Located at the Raffles Avenue, this world’s tallest (165m) Ferris Wheel is looked so attractive from far. We can enjoy sky-dining with full butler service or have a cocktail flight here inside the capsule. But no worries, for the short budget tourist like me (and most of us), we can simply enjoy a simple one-rotation flight. So what is it like?

Where Am I: Nami Island

nami_00
An update of my trip to Korea back in September 2011. On the 3rd day, I visited this famous island named Namiseom or Nami Island. This spot is always packed with tourists since it’s a shooting location of famous romantic Korean drama back in 2002 – Winter’s Sonata. (Fine.. I was a fan)

Winter-Sonata
Why I could watch this drama at such young age is still a mystery..

But too bad, it wasn’t winter so this place was very different from what I saw in the drama. First, there’s no snow, all the trees were green. Second, it’s so crowded and far away from quiet like what was pictured in the drama. Third, the Bae Yong-jun is made of bronze here. Ok, after the jump will be filled with many pictures and explanations.

Where Am I: Yeouido

The 2nd area that I visited in Seoul was Yeouido. It’s an island near the Han River with buildings of business center and parks where people go jogging, cycling or just sitting or even lying down on the grass. So what is the place like? Here are some pictures.

Food Review: New Mapogalmaegi

mapogal_review
Do you like grilled pork or beef above the charcoal? If you do, when you happened to visit Seoul, don’t forget to taste the Korean BBQ at New Mapogalmaegi restaurant in Hongdae area.

Btw I randomly google-translated mapogalmaegi, and I got “Gull abrasion” as the translation – which might be not true. :P

What’s the story?

The youth were strolling around Hongdae in the evening~!

One Friday, after failed to ride the Hangang Cruise at Yoeuido, my friends and I took the subway train and headed to Hongdae in the evening for dinner. Then we walked randomly through Hongdae while looked for the BBQ place with many customers or a bit of queue line. We were kinda hoping, that kind of restaurant might serve delicious food too. Skipped the boring process, and so we bumped into this restaurant named Mapogalmaegi.

Getting in the restaurant

A table across our table

Mapogalmaegi was full with customers, one group left a table, and soon another group would fill this table. Workers, college students and even some foreigners could be spotted in this restaurant. It was crowded but somehow I felt cozy after sitting in this restaurant. The sound of people chit-chattering, the symphony of sizzling meat on the hot grill, with the slow Korean R&B music was played on the background. It was really nice!
