Had the chance to observe the beauty of skyscrapers from the Singapore Flyer during my last visitation to Singapore. Located at the Raffles Avenue, this world&#8217;s tallest (165m) Ferris Wheel is looked so attractive from far. We can enjoy sky-dining with full butler service or have a cocktail flight here inside the capsule. But no worries, for the short budget tourist like me (and most of us), we can simply enjoy a simple one-rotation flight. So what is it like?</p>
<p><span id="more-5918"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7009/6779474151_8072da6552_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_wheel"><br />
Singapore Flyer &#8211; the giant Ferris Wheel <em>aka</em> Giant Observation Wheel.
</p>
<p><strong>Did you know:</strong> that Singapore Flyer (or Britain&#8217;s London Eye) should be called as Giant Observation Wheel as there are some differences between Giant Observation Wheel and Ferris Wheel.<br />
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/6779814741_753c928957_o.jpg" width="580" height="536" alt="singfly_difference"></p>
<p>Actually I wanted to ride Singapore Flyer while the sun was setting, but my family and I arrived too early. So we boarded into the capsule at around 5PM (Singapore&#8217;s time) when the sun was still shining soooo bright. The ticket costs <strong>SGD29.50 for adult</strong>, since my uncle is a senior already so his ticket only costs SGD23.60. </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7161/6779475465_483077e26b_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_tube02"><br />
Boarding into the cool-looking capsule.
</p>
<p>One capsule can carry up to 28 passengers, but there were only a few visitors at the Singapore Flyer during that day, so we shared the capsule with another family consists of 3 people. </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7024/6779477501_2d53f125b5_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_tube03"><br />
Inside the capsule. Spacious and empty! YAY. (^__^)
</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7035/6779473441_21bcfc8ac9_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_tube"><br />
The sloooooowly rotating wheel. It takes around 30 minutes for one 360° rotation.
</p>
<p>The good thing about the slow rotation is there are plenty of time to enjoy the view and take lots of good pictures of the Singapore&#8217;s skyscrapers. </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7157/6779476807_b17d70ff06_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_view02"><br />
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7002/6779477131_4b053c445e_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_view03"><br />
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7014/6779476235_dd61b43d71_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="singfly_view">
</p>
<p>However after taking lots of pictures, till I ran out of objects that I want to capture, there were still more time left in the capsule because the wheel is still slooooowly rotating&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7024/6779472889_d73cfe7f05_o.jpg" width="580" height="559" alt="singfly_long"><br />
till it got quite boring.
</p>
<p>I saw the elders were also bored. The first few minutes, they still stood around the observation glass, excitingly observing the view, taking pictures. 15 minutes later they already sat down and chit-chatted about other topics instead. Well, I got bored too..</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7028/6779475875_82ac3f0651_o.jpg" width="550" height="412" alt="singfly_wheel02"><br />
Singapore Flyer from the souvenir shop&#8217;s window.
</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5282/5333493546_1760fa04b6_o.jpg" width="550" height="367" alt="The View From Singapore Flyer Dock"><br />
The View From Singapore Flyer Dock: Marina Bay Sands.
</p>
<p>Though quite boring, Singapore Flyer is worthy for an experience. It&#8217;s extremely high but it wasn&#8217;t scary because the rotation is smooooooth and slooooow. The view might be more enjoyable at night or during sunset which I failed to attempt..</p>
